There was a day when the North Shore Conference was all about Port Washington. Those days are over as Cedarburg has taken charge of the league.

The Bulldogs sent nine wrestlers to the finals, saw six of them win individual titles and easily won the North Shore for the second consecutive year by scoring 234 points.

Germantown finished second with 161.5 points, followed by Port Washington with 151 in the eight team league.

Sophomore Colton Ryan (126), sophomore Sean Ipsarides (138), senior Max Stahnke (145), senior Jason Ipsarides (152), senior Tucker Hammer (160) and senior Kyle Polum (285) all won titles for Cedarburg.

Port Washington senior Zach Smith pinned Germantown junior Jimmy Nguyen in 2:24 to win the 120 title. It was Smith’s third title after winning the 113 title in 2012 and the 126 title in 2014.

Jason Ipsarides became a four-time conference champion by defeating Homestead senior Connor Scholtus by a 10-2 major decision to win the 152 title. Ipsarides won the 132 title in 2012, the 138 title in 2013 and the 145 title a year ago.
