February 8 Tech Holds Off Surprising King in City

The Milwaukee Bradley Tech Trojans won its eighth consecutive Milwaukee City Conference title by holding off a surprising effort from the Milwaukee King Generals, who finished second in their highest finish in years.

Tech saw five wrestlers win individual titles as the Trojans totaled 216 points at the nine-team tournament. King, which hadn’t finished second in the league meet since at least 2005, had three champions in a tournament that saw eight of the nine teams win individual titles. King finished with 206 points, followed by Milwaukee Riverside (169.5) and Milwaukee Hamilton (145).

Two Tech wrestlers – seniors Diremius Gordon and Maurice Lowe – finished careers with third City titles. Gordon (33-6) defeated Riverside junior Kahalyn Chatman (18-5) by a 6-2 decision to win the 145 title. Gordon won the 132 title in 2012 and the 145 title in 2014.

Lowe (33-4) won defeated Elisha Ikhhamhen (15-10) by a pin in 2 minutes two win the 182 title. Lowe won the 182 title in 2013 and 2014.

Tech also received titles from freshman Kevonte Brown (13-20 at 106), freshman Michael Walker (19-8 at 113) and senior Armante Davis (37-4 at 295).

King’s individual titles came from senior Tariq Boseman (14-13 at 120), senior Cortez Harris (26-22 at 126) and senior Linzy Hudson (31-3 at 160).
