Wrestler of the Week - February 16

 Tyus White, West Allis Central: White (32-5), a junior, won the toughest regional weight class in the area when he captured the 113-pound title at the West Allis Central regional Saturday. White, the 106-pound Division 1 state champion a year ago, defeated previously undefeated West Allis Hale freshman Peyton Mocco (34-2) by a 4-3 decision in double overtime in the 113 final with an escape in the final 30-second period. Mocco entered the match ranked No. 1in the area and No. 2 in the state by wiwresting.com. White, ranked No. 7 at 120, also defeated Waterford junior Justin Ratkovek (38-5) by a 4-3 decision in the semifinals. Ratkovek is ranked No. 8 at 113. The three will fight it out for two berths to the individual state tournament in a week at the Waukesha West individual sectional. Mocco and Ratkovek should meet in the semifinals. The winner will likely face White in the final.

Team of the Week - February 11

Wauwatosa. Often overlooked, Wauwatosa easily won the Nicolet regional to qualify for the team sectional final. Tosa is to face area No. 3-ranked Cedarburg in the team sectional final at Arrowhead. Tosa advanced 13 of 14 wrestlers on to the Menomonee Falls individual sectional, claimed six individual regional champions and easily won the team title by scoring 256 points. Whitefish Bay finished second with 211.5 points. Tosa’s champions were senior Sean McDuffie (26-13 at 113), junior Justin Folley (38-1 at 126), senior Ben Reagan (35-2 at 138), senior Marcus Morrow (38-2 at 152), junior Jordan Boettcher (31-10 at 160) and junior Lorri Venturi (24-8 at 285).
